Description

American Express seeks a Manager, Risk Management to develop business strategies and risk management solutions using consumer or business bureau data. This role involves:

  • Analyzing structured and unstructured data using statistical, financial, machine learning, or business intelligence techniques.
  • Collaborating with technology and other teams to implement risk management policies and business strategies.
  • Identifying and evaluating new data sources (regulated and unregulated) to enhance the efficiency of American Express products and services.
  • Applying industry best practices and incorporating regulatory feedback to continuously improve risk management strategies.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in each of the following:
    • Risk management and cost-benefit analysis.
    • Communicating complex analyses to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Collaboration with technical, analytical, business, and non-technical teams.
    • Business process improvement, project management, and driving organizational change.
    • Using MS Excel for financial and data reporting/modeling.
    • Proficiency in tools such as Databricks, Python, R, SAS, SQL, Tableau, Teradata, Unix, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

Work Arrangements:

  • Flexible hybrid work option, with up to 3 days remote work per week.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
  • Previous experience in customer service, preferably in the travel or airline industry.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using computers, including familiarity with CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-first mindset.
  • Reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace free from distractions.
