Senior Manager, Creative – Copy
We’re looking for a Senior Manager of Copy to join the Creative Production Team at Sam’s Club. This highly specialized role will lead a lean, fast-moving internal copy team, delivering high-impact creative on urgent timelines. You’ll help shape messaging for everything from corporate campaigns to experimental prototypes and social trend responses, working hand-in-hand with designers and video editors. You will lead by example-writing, reviewing, and refining copy that shows up across websites, digital signage, social platforms, internal screens, events, and more. You’ll also serve as a collaborative coach to your associate copywriter, helping shape a high-trust, high-performance team culture. What you’ll do…
Strategic Messaging & Brand Voice Leadership
- Translating executive direction and creative briefs into clear, concise, compelling messaging
- Acting as the voice and tone expert across projects and platforms
- Reviewing and approving all copy deliverables for accuracy, tone, and brand alignment
High-Performance Creative Execution
- Crafting high-quality, high-velocity copy for a wide range of fast-turn creative projects
- Managing copy timelines, capacity, and workflow in partnership with the Director of Creative Production
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Team Leadership
- Coaching and mentoring your associate copywriter through feedback, collaboration, and shared development goals
- Partnering with design and video leads to develop cohesive creative across mediums
- Collaborating with Marketing and Communications stakeholders on corporate campaigns and rapid-response needs
Creative Innovation & Problem-Solving
- Helping test and shape new formats and experimental creative content
You’ll sweep us off our feet if you:
- Are a strong conceptual thinker and a nimble, expressive writer
- Have experience writing across brand, campaign, and corporate formats (especially digital signage, social, and internal content)
- Thrive in fast-paced environments and can deliver high-quality work under tight timelines
- Have a keen eye for detail and love refining copy for clarity and voice
- Enjoy mentoring and growing creative talent
- Have 6+ years of experience in copywriting, creative strategy, or editorial leadership (in-house or agency)
- Have experience partnering closely with designers, video teams, and marketing stakeholders
- Are curious, collaborative, positive, and deeply team-oriented
