Sales Representative – Kansas City

Avantor is looking for a dynamic Sales Representative professional.

The Sales Representative will work closely within the sales and support teams for the achievement of customer satisfaction, revenue generation, and long-term account goals in line with company business strategy. This role will be field-based and require daily face-to-face sales efforts in supporting the Kansas City market.

What we’re looking for

  • Education: College degree or equivalent/applicable experience
  • Experience: Minimum 2-5 years of experience working in a complex sales environment
    • Experience with dynamic, multi-collaborative purchasing decision and there is a solution based selling approach
    • A proven track record of verifiable sales success driving growth with a consultative, strategic selling approach
    • Business-to-business (B2B) sales experience
    • CRM experience
    • Demonstrated capability to effectively utilize best in class selling processes (e.g. SPIN, Challenger, Miller Heiman)
    • This position requires valid driver’s license to perform essential functions of the role.
       
  • Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Office experience required, with preference for technology platform experience such as Salesforce and/or Qlikview
  • Preferred Qualifications: 
    • Science or Medical Technology background
    • Preferred sales experience within the Academia, BioTech, BioPharma, Government industries
    • Distribution experience
    • Prior or current work in a laboratory or research environment
    • Willingness to travel to customer locations

How you will thrive and create an impact

The Sales Representative is accountable for all sales activities, from lead generation through close, in an assigned territory, using a formal selling approach. This role develops and implements an agreed upon Operating Plan which will meet both personal and business goals of expanding customer sales in the assigned geography.

Build and sustain customer relationships, ensuring satisfaction and loyalty.

Provide Avantor solutions to customers across the Education & Medical Research (E&MR), Pharmaceutical/Biotech/Industrial (PBI), or Healthcare & Government market segments.

Manage a diverse territory of customers across various markets.

Prospect and establish new customers, managing a sales pipeline and delivering proposals that illustrate Avantor’s value proposition.

Maintain access to Avantor’s entire product line for all customers.

Sell consultatively, identifying customer needs and recommending Avantor solutions.

Develop strategic territory business plans with sales management to achieve sales growth and quotas.

Collaborate with the sales management team to implement sales strategies.
